Inés has a proven track record of successfully supporting underrepresented students and their families on their path to achieve post-secondary success, as well as a demonstrated commitment to working towards long-term, comprehensive social change. She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and the very first person in her extended family to graduate from college in the United States. She holds a BA in International Relations with honors in Latin American Studies and an MA in Sociology with an emphasis on Structural Stratification and Inequality from Stanford University. While working for First Graduate, Inés saw that any of her students found limited support at their institution of higher education in developing as a young professional and securing a job in their field of choice. That lead Inés to look for a position in Career Services and in 2013, she joined the Mills College Career Services office as a Career Advisor. Inés is currently leading the office, as Associate Director, in redesigning Career Services to prepare Mills College’s diverse student body for successful entry into the professional world as empowered agents for positive social change.
